With prom season coming to an end, we are proud to say that with the help of the Houston community Devine Creations- Devine Prom Project was able to assist 10 young ladies with prom. Each year Devine Creations help assist young high school seniors who are from low income families attend prom. With the economy the way that it is there are several parents who are in need and purchasing a gown, shoes and accessories can be a lot. Doing the month of March Devine Creations received several letters from young girls in need. One of the young ladies Crystal Melody Olmos stated,
“For the past year and four months I have been living without electricity. My mother is trying her best to go back to school to maintain a job to provide for me, because I am her only child. Yet, I was recently in a car accident and was injured, but not severely. Due to the accident, we are now using a rental car and it seems harder and harder for my mother to maintain the bills. I can obviously see that my mother cannot provide me with the prom dress that I would like, but it’s ok. I know my mother is doing the best that she can to provide for me. So in conclusion, I would greatly appreciate to have a dress donated to me and return it back so another girl can experience the fun of showing up to prom in a gorgeous dress".
Devine Creations - Devine Prom Project 2011 helped Melody with a free prom gown from Ms. Janean Johnson the owner of Ja Jo Couture this gown was not only FREE, but was hand made from Ms. Johnson one of Houston's famous designer. Ms. Verna Caddie, the founder of Devine Creations - Devine Prom Project says “It is a blessing to be a blessing to so many young girls in the Houston community, throughout the year we receive request from so many young girls and the need is great, we are also in need of donations, that is one reason why we receive donations year round, One of our biggest needs are full figured gowns, sizes 14 up to size 24, If you would like to donate to our nonprofit, please visit: www.devinepromproject.org". For five years Devine Creations - Devine Prom Project has assist young ladies by providing them FREE PROM GOWNS.
Parents are more in need now more than ever. Devine Creations- Devine Prom Project 2011 help assist 10 young ladies with prom gowns and one young lady had here dress made from one of Houston's very own fashion designer:
